Other products

Other products refers to a diverse category of steels with unique properties derived from the various elements used in their composition, as well as the specific heat treatments they undergo. These steels are engineered to exhibit characteristics that go beyond those of standard steel, making them ideal for specialized applications.

Some of the elements that can be incorporated into these steels, in addition to carbon, include chromium, nickel, silicon, tungsten, vanadium, cobalt, and manganese.

What sets other steel apart is the intentional addition of these elements, which enhances the material’s physical, technological, and mechanical properties, offering superior performance compared to conventional steel.

There are four main categories within this classification:

  • Non-alloy steel: Excluding those used for high-speed mechanical processing, with a manganese content below 1%.

  • Non-alloy steel for high-speed processing: Low-alloy steels where each element accounts for less than 5% by weight.

  • High-alloy steels: Steels containing at least one alloying element over 5%.

  • High-speed steels

Special steels are steels with specific characteristics that come from the different elements used for their composition and heat treatment to which they have been subjected.
